WIN The Devil’s Ribbon by DE Meredith

1 Mins read

devilsribbonukOn 25 February Allison & Busby is releasing the UK printing of The Devil’s Ribbon by DE Meredith. And we’ve got five signed copies up for grabs.

Set back in 1858, when forensic science was in its infancy, The Devil’s Ribbon sees Professor Adolphus Hatton and his able assistant Albert Roumande searching for a killer. London is beset by a cholera epidemic but the disease is far from the only threat. Inspector Grey of Scotland Yard has arrived with the body of a murder victim, with a strange calling card in his mouth. On top of which, a political feud between Irish Unionists and Fenians has parts of the city on the verge of anarchy.

And, what’s this? There’s also a love interest distracting Professor Hatton as he tries his best to solve the mystery using the latest forensic methods. “This is CSI 19th century style, so techniques were basic and effectively – the reader learns alongside the experts,” said Spriteby in our review. “It’s historical crime that’s not afraid to roll its sleeves up and get covered in blood and guts.”

It’s the second mystery in DE Meredith’s Hatton and Roumande series, following on from Devoured. If you are at a UK address and would like a signed copy of The Devil’s Ribbon on your bookshelf, you better enter today!
