Blinded Swedish crime show

US based fans of Nordic noir are in for a treat because on 24 November Sundance Now will be releasing the Swedish crime drama Blinded on DVD.

This clever financial thriller revolves around financial journalist Bea Farkas, played by Julia Ragnarsson. She’s having a secret affair with bank director Peder Rooth, who is played by Narcos actor Matias Varela. Professionally speaking, he should be out of bounds to her seeing as she could have to write about his company.

And that’s just what happens. When she’s assigned to interview Peder for her publication, Bea asks him some difficult questions about the bank’s quarterly report. His responses don’t sit well with her but he tries to brush it aside. However, an anonymous tip-off confirms to her that Peder is hiding something…

Bea’s affair with Peder is dangerous for her career, but now the stakes are rising and the danger level starts to head off the chart. The story is based on the financial thriller Fartblinda, by Swedish author and academic Carolina Neurath, who knows what she’s talking about, having been a financial reporter herself.

Blinded will appeal to fans of the Danish show Follow the Money, and Norway’s Acquitted.

Priced $24.99, the two-disc set will bring you the entire eight-episode series.
