The Fox

1 Mins read
The Fox by Solveig Palsdottir front cover

The Fox is Sólveig Pálsdóttir’s first book translated into English. With its grey, gloomy and unpredictable landscape and equally dark plot it is a prime example of the Nordic noir novels readers have grown to love.

When Sajee Gunawardena finds herself desperate and without work thousands of miles from her native Sri Lanka, out of sheer desperation, she accepts a job working for an elderly woman and her son on a remote farm in the northern region of Iceland.

Sólveig Pálsdóttir conjures up a hostile landscape with similarly unfriendly inhabitants who only use Sajee for their own nefarious purposes. The Fox’s twisted story line and current subject matter secures its place with the best of Icelandic crime fiction. Read our full review here.
