Danish writer Sara Blaedel admits she feels a little grumpy when she kills off a victim in one of her crime novels. Having penned several in Danish, her debut in English is Call me Princess and it came out in hardback on 15 August. Below we’ve brought you a short documentary Blaedel made by her publisher Open Road Media in which she explains a bit about the story and it’s setting – the fairy tale city of Copenhagen. Enjoy.
We love the modern modus operandi of the killer, who selects his victims using online dating sites and this film seems to capture an eeriness that hopefully the book’s text is also infused with. A short excerpt of the book can be read here. You can purchase the hardcover below – unfortunately the Kindle version isn’t available in the UK as yet. We hope this will change soon. The book was originally written in 2007, and another English translation of her work is due out next year – Only One Life. (Let us know if you like our first foray into video!)
