“Where have you been all my life?” asked our reviewer Jeremy Megraw when he discovered this Glass Key winning novel by Jorn Lier Horst. The Norwegian detective William Wisting is shocked when he hears that his own department is implicated in a corruption scandal. His discomforted is compounded by the fact that it is his own daughter, an investigative journalist, who breaks the news.

An infamous killer has been released from jail, but it is alleged that he was framed by the police decades ago. Wisting is not convinced by the claims of innocence, and he is certain that the newly released Rudolf Haglund is still a danger to the public. As well as being a gripping crime novel, this as good an exploration of a father-daughter relationship as you will get. The full review is here.
