LandofShadows200

There’s certainly no shortage of fictional LA cops and PIs. Marlowe, Rawlins, Bosch and Cole, to name but four, have all trodden the mean streets. Elouise Norton is the new kid on the block in this taut procedural. Her new partner, Colin Taggart poses a challenge. She is a black woman. He is a white man. She has escaped the housing projects through her own ability. He is a southern boy who has had everything handed to him on a plate.

The unlikely pair have to investigate a property developer who may be hiding more secrets than just a few crooked land deals. One of these secrets links back to a tragic incident in Norton’s own family history, and so it suddenly becomes very personal. Find out more by reading our full review.
