Last week, HarperCollins unveiled the cover to The Most Dangerous Games – a novel written collaboratively by the YouTuber MrBeast and the crime thriller author James Patterson.
Given that the natural ecosystem of one of the co-authors is YouTube, we decided to make a video with our take on the book, which goes on sale 1 September 2026.
Is this rage bait for crime fiction purists? Or maybe an opportunity to bring lots of new people into reading, and into crime thrillers in particular.
