First look: The Killing Stones by Ann Cleeves

1 Mins read

Jimmy Perez is back! That’s the big story here. But it doesn’t mean that Douglas Henshall is returning to the Shetland series. What it means is that Ann Cleeves’s Scottish detective inspector will be the main character in her next novel – The Killing Stones.

Alongside him as he investigates will be his partner, Willow Reeves. And the setting? Well, that would be the Orkney Islands, not quite as remote as the Shetlands, but a long, long, long way from London or Edinburgh.

It’s been SEVEN years since we’ve been able to hang out with Jimmy. We’ll raise a wee dram to his return when the finished book arrives in September in the US, and in October in the UK.

In our video, we take a look at the new novel and some of its themes. You can pre-order a copy using our Amazon buttons below. Or, see our review of the last Jimmy Perez novel, Wildfire, from 2018.
