Nobody Walks

1 Mins read

nobodywalks200Former MI5 agent Tom Bettany is a bit of a drifter nowadays. He’s been living here and there in different spots on the Continent, and currently works in a slaughterhouse in France. One day, he receives a voicemail saying that his son Liam is dead, and when Bettany looks into it he’s warned off by his old department. He feels certain that Liam didn’t fall off a balcony while stoned one night. The boy was killed and to find out what really happened – and to stay alive himself – Bettany will call upon all his old skills. This book is about more than the pursuit of justice, our hero needs to redeem himself because a little part of him says he might not have been the ideal father back when Liam was a child, and needed him most.

Mick Herron steps out of the Slough House series and, while still in the world of espionage, Nobody Walks is a lot more serious in tone. But more than that, it’s an outstanding novel. Read the RoughJustice review here.
