Icelandic crime author Jón Atli Jónasson reads from Broken

1 Mins read

If you love your Nordic noir, then you’re bound to enjoy the new edition of Video Evidence, presented by Crime Fiction Lover, on our YouTube channel.

Icelandic crime fiction author Jón Atli Jónasson joins us to read a short passage from his debut novel, Broken. One of the underlying themes of the book is outsider characters, and he’s chosen one of them to read about.

The novel centres on two outsider cops, Rado and Dóra. They’re both on the fringes of the Reykjavik police force, for very different reasons. But circumstances throw them together in the search for a missing trans teenager called Morgan.

With a gang war looming, there are perils for the pair in their search, and one of them might just be The Groke, whom Jón Atli reads about in our featurette. Broken is out now, translated into English by Quentin Bates.

You can read an interview with the author here, and order a copy of Broken using the buttons below. A full review is on its way.
