Scorched Earth

We’ve reached number six in David Mark’s series featuring DS Aector McAvoy and this is the best one yet. It all begins in explosive fashion, with a hit and run on an old police colleague witnessed by McAvoy. The elderly victim had called his pal to check out suspicious activity at a derelict house nearby, and what the Scottish sergeant discovers sets him on a trail that leads to the dark nooks and crannies of Hull, and to the squalor of the Jungle in Calais. Bloody and intense, you won’t want to put this one down. Read our full review here.
