Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy competition winners

Normally our site is all about the best crime books out there, but when the good folks at Focus Features got in touch about the release of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy offering fine prizes if we’d run a competition with them, we couldn’t resist. So we challenged you to invent your own spy character and tweet about it on Twitter in order to enter. If you check out the original competition text you can also watch some videos about John le Carré’s masterfully written book.

We had some very interesting entries and have posted some of them below. But first we want to announce our winners. Congratulations go out to:

Scott Harrell invented Spyclown X. “Spyclown X entertains the children of beltway power brokers, with Eyes and oversize ears always open!”

Russell Scott went a little sci-fi. “Restin Bott – an industrial espionage agent designed to operate by passive transmission. Set in an electronic future.”

Not sure why they both have Scott in their names – that’s quite a coincidence. Nonetheless, each of them will receive the following fantastic prizes: a copy of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with the movie tie-in cover; a t-shirt; a voice recorder pen; and a Post-it Note Cube. It’s a prize bundle with a value of $43 and we’re very grateful to Focus Features for supplying it. Here are some of the other entries.
