First look: Stasi Child

1 Mins read

StasiChild_firstlook_540How do you like the look of this debut novel by David Young, due out 1 October? Stasi Child is set to be the first ebook from Twenty7 books, a new imprint focusing on crime, and Crime Fiction Lover brings you the exclusive cover reveal.

Inside, you’ll find the tale of Oberleutnant Karin Müller, an East German detective who’s called out to investigate when the body of a teenage girl is found next to the Berlin Wall. Müller works for the state police, but the murder itself looks like the work of the Stasi, even though the secret police are blaming elements in the West for the killing. It’s set in the early 70s.

Perhaps if you loved Child 44 by Tim Rob Smith, or enjoy the Bernie Gunther series, Stasi Child will be right down your Eastern European alley? The author is actually from Hull, and writes from his garden shed, after enjoying an illustrious career as a news agency and provincial newspaper journalist. While studying for his MA in Crime Writing at City University, David Young won the PFD prize.

Looks like it could be special and you can pre-order your copy on Amazon.
