Scottish crime author Andrew Raymond reads from The Bonnie Dead

Here’s something special we lined up for crime fiction lovers. We asked the Glasgow-based crime author Andrew Raymond to read a passage for you from The Bonnie Dead, the first in his DCI Lomond series of police procedurals.

If you like a dark mystery with all the hallmarks of Tartan noir, this novel is an excellent choice. Five years prior, John Lomond was hunting a child snatcher called The Sandman when personal tragedy struck. Now, a boy has been kidnapped in a wealthy suburb. Plus, two bodies have been found with the MO very reminiscent of The Sandman. Is this Lomond’s chance to finally catch the killer?

We love the author’s story too. Andrew worked in the book trade and was writing thrillers and self publishing them, including the four Lomond novels. In June, Vinci Books republished the series in print and is distributing it to bookshops in the UK and abroad. Now, Andrew will be able to see his novel alongside other Scottish greats such as Val McDermid and Ian Rankin.
