Alex Marwood has made a name for herself with her never predictable array of standalone psychological thrillers. This one is a doozy, with a cracker of an opening that pulls the reader in right from the off. We’re at the scene of a mass killing in Wales, at the home of a secretive cult. Fast forward and the only adult survivor, Romy, is about to leave the halfway house where she’s been recovering from her ordeal and begin a new life of her own. This is a girl with secrets though, and when she meets seemingly solid and dependable divorcee Sarah, life is about to get very interesting indeed… Read our review here.
