Crime Fiction Lover

Welcome to New Talent November 2017

November is here, and that means we return to our annual celebration of fresh blood on the crime fiction scene. It’s a tradition stretching back to 2011, and we hope you’ll join us.

How do we celebrate? Well, in November we try to focus on new authors, debut and second novels, independent and self-published crime fiction. There are many rising stars to catch up with, and lots of gems to discover out there in the world of independent publishing.

Our plans already include interviews with Fiona Cummins and Lloyd Otis, as well as a chat with new Icelandic author Lilja Sigurdardottir. We’ll be looking for places to discover crime fiction short stories by tomorrow’s stars. For anyone who’s thinking of publishing their work for the first time, we’ve got some advice from Tim Flanagan at Novel Design Studio, a service that helps authors to self-publish and promote.

The respected Brit Grit author Paul D Brazill has his finger on the pulse of the underground crime fiction scene and he’ll be recommending a slew of new reads from the UK, US and Australia. Plus we’ll have a bunch of reviews for you and a round-up of the best debuts of 2017 at the end of the month.

Here’s a recap of everything we covered in New Talent November 2016.
