Short story collection: the crime authors of tomorrow

Martin Marriott. Julia Proud. Colin Shaw. These are just three of the names crowd funding publisher Britain’s Next Bestseller says we should take note of. They are among eight authors whose short stories have been chosen as winners following a writing competition run buy BNBS and Scriggler.com during December and January. They’re joined by Dean Edwards, Levi Andrew Noe, Marianne Edwards, Susan Rogerson and Sarah Roberts.

The short story collection their work will appear in is called The Good Girl, which is also the title of Martin Marriott’s short story included inside. Now that their stories have been selected, these new crime authors need to generate 250 pre-orders for the book in order to get it printed by BNBS. If you want to be ahead of the curve and discover these authors for yourself, you can click here to pledge your support for The Good Girl, which will cost £7.99 when printed. If it makes the order target, you’ll get the book in September 2015.

There will be nine stories in total, and all of them fall into the crime and thriller category. Any profits earned by the publication of the book will be donated to the Hope Academy for Girls – a school for girls from underprivileged backgrounds in Sierra Leone. If you click the link above, you can read an excerpt from The Good Girl by Martin Marriott, and watch a video introducing the authors. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
