An Event in Autumn

1 Mins read

An_Event_in_AutumnThis really is the last ever Wallander book from Henning Mankell and it’s one to savour. The novella features the Swedish detective in a typically despondent mood as autumn sets in. Suddenly, it seems like a cherished dream is about to come true: a house in the country. But as he’s looking over the property, Wallander stumbles across something in the garden – a skeletal hand. He’s now got a cold case to investigate, while battling the management clampdown on resources and trying to understand his daughter, who’s now a colleague. An Event in Autumn is a worthy encore for the detective who helped create the Scandinavian crime phenomenon. Our full review is here.
